Adipex (phentermine)

Better known as phentermine, is a medication to decrease appetite.  It promotes weight loss by decreasing hunger and it may help you feel full longer.

Phentermine is best used for those who eat excessively and needs appetite curbing.

Phentermine is used for people who are obese or overweight when combined with diet, exercise and change of lifestyle.

Qsymia (phentermine/topiramate ER)

This medication is a combination medication of phentermine and topiramate to promote weight loss.

This patient is used best when the patient enters a reduced-calorie diet program, exercise program and behavior modification.  Phentermine is a medication that promotes decreased appetite and topiramate works in the brain to lower appetite and promote the feeling of fullness.

This medication works best in patients who need both appetite curbing and have either sleep-related eating disorders, night-time snackers, or specific cravings.

Contrave (Wellbutrin/bupropion with naltrexone)

This weight loss aide is a combination of Wellbutrin/bupropion and naltrexone.  These medications work on various parts of the brain to promote weight loss by reducing appetite and reducing food cravings.

This medication works best when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise to enhance weight management.

This is for those who lack energy/motivation; depressed; and who have cravings (patients who crave specific foods) or binge eating.
